Debenhams Case Study
Debenhams is a household name in the UK retail market with a highly regarded reputation as 'Britain's favourite department store'. Their 117 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland are visited by more than 16 million customers a year and employ over 19,000 people. With over 50 exclusive own brands and concessions and 15 overseas franchise stores, Debenhams is continually aiming to improve profitability by increasing sales and moving into new markets.
Consequently, to cope with customer demand and to facilitate growth, Debenhams Retail Division had a 760,000 sq ft distribution warehouse built in Peterborough.
Vanguard assumed responsibility for supplying and installing five 17 metre high, two hour and half hour fire rated staircase enclosures around the flooring, providing both access and means of escape from all storage levels.
Designed by the in house team of consultants and installed by qualified professionals, the enclosures adhere to all manufacturer recommendations, performance specifications and health and safety legislations and were aesthetically finished to sympathetically blend into the building's surroundings.
