Ann Summers Retail Case Study
Ann Summers ranks as one of the most successful and profitable private companies in the UK with a sales turnover of £155 million. They boast a sales force of over 7,500 women as party organisers and currently occupy 122 high street stores.
Having taken over Knickerbox, they added an additional 16 stores to their portfolio in the UK and a number of global franchises.
To achieve their desired result Vanguard Contracts was employed to design and install a back-of-store mezzanine floor within an existing retail shop at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. This had to be constructed to accommodate first floor storage, a ground floor canteen, toilets and dressing areas.
Due to both height and width restrictions of the building particular emphasis was placed on the staircase design and the final positions of the mezzanine columns.
The project successfully neutralised any potential limitations, adhered to all specifications, and was completed within the designated time frame.
